Dhubri: Assam police seized a huge amount of contraband drugs and arrested two drug smugglers at Dhubri on Thursday as per the report.

Acting on specific inputs, the police team led by Mukul Hazarika OC, Dhubri have arrested the two suspects from the Josimmuddin road.

The accused have been identified as Motiar Ali (26) resident of Bogulamari and Hanif Shikdar (26) resident of Iron jongla.

As per the police report, the police seized drugs which include 11 bottles of cough syrup and 144 numbers of Sps Phen Plus addictive contraband tablets.

Moreover, the police have also recovered Rs. 5,500 and two mobile handsets from the accused persons.

OC Mukul Hazarika said that a case have been registered against the accused persons under NDPS Act.
