Digital Desk: Amid the rise of doing business from home tradition as a result of the pandemic, distant working has contributed to a rise in porn habits within the UK, media reports said.

For more than two years following the Covid pandemic, working from home has been regarded as the most convenient work arrangement. Even after the third wave, many businesses maintained the work-from-home model even while offices were constructed in other nations.

Numerous changes in the style of living were also witnessed as a result of this work culture. A recent study found that remote working has increased porn addiction in England, according to an article that appeared in the London Daily Mail. This survey claims that the number of individuals seeking treatment for a porn addiction has nearly doubled over the previous two years.

Significantly, people who become addicted to porn utilize other people's sex for their own amusement. Porn addiction is thought to be a brain-related addiction. There are some patients at The Laurel Center in London, the largest sex and porn addiction treatment facility in the United Kingdom, who watch porn for up to 14 hours a day.

Paula Hall, the clinical director of the centre, claims that since more individuals are working from home and spend more time in front of their computers than ever before, it stands to reason that they are also watching more porn. He claims that "This implies you now have additional opportunities. You may indulge in the need at any moment of the day; you don't have to wait until you get home at night."

The Laurel Center alone has seen more than 750 instances of porn addiction in the first half of 2022, compared to only 950 for the entire year of 2019. The time and effort required to overcome this addiction are also discussed in this research.
