Digital Desk: Model-turned-actor Poonam Pandey, who has been in the headlines for the past few months for her alleged participation in a pornography case, is granted protection by the Supreme Court, the report said. Reportedly, Poonam is accused in the pornography case in which Mumbai police arrested Shilpa Shetty's husband and businessman Raj Kundra. According to reports, after the actress's anticipatory bail appeal in the Bombay High Court was rejected, a bench of Justices Vineet Saran and B V Nagarathna issued a notice to the Maharashtra government.  The Bench stated, "Issue notice. In the meanwhile, no coercive action shall be taken against the petitioner." Following the Bombay High Court's rejection of her anticipatory bail appeal on November 25, 2021, the actress petitioned the Supreme Court for temporary protection from arrest. According to reports, the actress stated that she was neither a partner nor owner of any platforms in her appeal. Poonam further stated that the charge against her was based on a video depicting her published on several platforms. "While the applicant is neither the owner or a business partner of any such websites or online Platforms, the only charge levelled against her is that a video supposedly depicting him is available on the website... In this connection, it is important to mention that the government of India has already shut and disabled certain websites, which allegedly contain some videos of the petitioner. " the plea stated. Notably, in December last year, the Supreme Court granted Raj Kundra interim protection from arrest in the accused pornography case.
