His remarks received strong backlash from the Satrapeeth Majuli and on social media platforms. Garg apologised for his statements later in that program

Digital Desk: The Majuli Zila Satra Mahasabha has made a significant decision regarding Zubeen Garg, urging him to abstain from participating in cultural events held in Majuli. This comes after a controversial statement made by Garg during the 66th Central Rongali Bihu Sammelan held in Majuli on April 22.

At the event, Garg, who was invited and was honoured with the title of 'Sangeet Sindhu,' made remarks that sparked controversy. He criticised the practice of referring to satradhikars as divine figures, stating that it was unacceptable. Additionally, he expressed arrogance in his speech, stating, "I am someone who doesn't care."

These remarks received strong backlash from the Satrapeeth Majuli and on social media platforms. Garg apologised for his statements later in that program. However, the fallout from his comments has led the Majuli Zila Satra Mahasabha to take action against him.

The committee has proposed revoking Garg's 'Sangeet Sindhu' title that was conferred on him at the same concert, and they have urged him to refrain from participating in cultural events in Majuli. Mahasabha also initiated informing the Chief Minister through the District Commissioner about this decision, emphasising its gravity.

As a result of this ban, Garg's scheduled concert in East Majuli on April 29 is uncertain.

The question arises whether Zubeen should apologise again, as said by the Satra Mahasabha, or not.
