Digital Desk: President Droupadi Murmu graced the occasion with the prestigious Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor, bestowed upon five distinguished individuals. Among them were two former Prime Ministers honored posthumously and veteran BJP leader LK Advani, celebrated for their remarkable contributions to the nation. The ceremony, held at Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi, witnessed poignant moments as the recipients were acknowledged for their unparalleled service to India.

Former Bihar CM Karpoori Thakur was posthumously honored, with his son Ram Nath Thakur graciously accepting the award on his behalf. Renowned agronomist MS Swaminathan also received the Bharat Ratna, symbolizing his invaluable contributions to agriculture, with his daughter Nitya Rao accepting the honor.

President Murmu paid homage to former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh and PV Narasimha Rao, both honored posthumously. Their legacies were honored as their family members received the prestigious award on their behalf. Additionally, the Bharat Ratna was conferred upon BJP stalwart and former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani, underscoring his significant role in shaping India's political landscape.
