Secretary of Assam's Tourism Department, Padmapani Bora taking X congratulated Priyanka for her achievement and wrote, "Many congratulations to Assam’s daughter Priyanka Rajkakati for successfully completing her voyage to Antarctica. Indeed proud to see her promoting #AwesomeAssam from the Southern hemisphere. #Antarctica @CMOfficeAssam."

Priyanka's voyage to Antarctica has an Assamese link that goes beyond her ethnic background. Assam Tourism and the Assam government are her sponsors for her once-in-a-lifetime journey.

As part of the Homeward Bound project, Priyanka will spend 19 nights in Antarctica with over 80 women scientists who have backgrounds in STEMM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine). These scientists were chosen from 18 different nations. The expedition will take you across the dangerous Drake's Passage, home to some of the world's tallest waves, which may grow to a height of 60 feet. There will be landings close to the Antarctic Peninsula and the Southern Shetland Islands.
