Digital Desk: The much-anticipated annual Assam Book Fair is due to begin on December 29 in Guwahati. This was announced on Monday by the Assam Publication Board

The publication board said during a press conference that the Assam Book Fair will be held for 12 days beginning December 29 at the Assam Engineering Institute field in Chandmari, Guwahati

Traders from outside the state and country are anticipated to attend the book fair, and organisations such as Penguin, Oxford, and others have already been approached, according to the publication board.

The book fair will have about twenty-five outlets established from outside the state and fifteen outlets from Dhaka, Bangladesh. 

The board also disclosed that three book fairs will receive a financial grant of Rs. 33 lakhs from the state government. 

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, and other notable figures from the literary community will be present at the book fairs.
