He dismissed the idea of a rotating premiership, raising concerns about the alliance's capacity to safeguard national security effectively

Digital Desk: Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, criticised Rahul Gandhi for his tendency to switch constituencies, attributing it to a fear of electoral defeat. Speaking at an election rally in Gujarat's Bodeli, Shah emphasised that the issue lies not with the constituencies but with Gandhi himself, asserting that defeat awaits him wherever he contests.

Shah's remarks followed Gandhi's nomination from Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh, a move seen as maintaining the Congress's stronghold in the state. Shah highlighted Gandhi's history of shifting constituencies, from Amethi to Wayanad and now to Rae Bareli, suggesting a pattern of evading electoral challenges.

“The problem is not with the constituencies, but with Rahul Gandhi himself, he will face defeat wherever he goes,” he said.

Expressing scepticism towards the INDIA alliance's rotational prime ministerial formula, Shah questioned their ability to manage crises such as COVID-19 or terrorism, contrasting it with the BJP's firm backing of Narendra Modi for the PM role.

He dismissed the idea of a rotating premiership, raising concerns about the alliance's capacity to safeguard national security effectively. Shah also accused the Congress of regional divisiveness and refuted opposition claims regarding the BJP's commitment to reservation policies.

Emphasising the need for stable leadership, Shah asserted that India's future should not be treated like a business enterprise where leadership changes annually but rather requires consistent and strong governance, a sentiment echoed by the widespread support for re-electing Narendra Modi as Prime Minister.
