Both parties are urging swift disciplinary measures against the district commissioner, who serves as the retaining officer.
In response to leaked information regarding the absence of the VVPAT, the Raijor Dal in Udalguri and the Aam Aadmi Party in Mangaldoi held simultaneous press conferences on March 26, demanding an immediate inquiry into the matter.
Following their demands, a preliminary investigation was conducted by Joint Chief Electoral Officer Emily Baruah, as directed by the state chief electoral officer.
