Digital Desk: A railway contractor was apprehended by the Guwahati police on Monday for reportedly threatening to kill Numun Dewan, the convener of the BJP IT Cell of the Kamrup Metro district with a pistol last night.

The suspect, Zubair Hussain, was arrested by Pan Bazar police on Monday, and his gun which he is accused of using to threaten the head of the BJP IT Cell was later seized.

The convener of the IT Cell lodged a police complaint, and the city police arrested the accused.

According to sources, Numun Dewan allegedly took the incorrect route while driving near the Guwahati area of Lakhtokia. As a result, Zubair stopped him in the middle of the road, and the two got into an argument.

Zubair then took a pistol from his pocket and placed it against Numun's chest, threatening to kill him then and there.

Meanwhile, it has come to light that Zubair Hussain is the brother of Tousif Hussain, president of the Muslim Students Federation of India.
