Digital Desk: Rainfall and landslides have disrupted life in northeastern India, including Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh, during the last few days, with floods worsening in numerous areas. The rain will continue for the next five days, according to the India Meteorological Department.

At least two children were murdered after a house fell following a landslide in Assam's Azad Nagar area of Goalpara district on Friday, according to news agency PTI, and two people drowned in floodwater in Dima Hasao and Udalguri.

2. Heavy to very severe rain was recorded in Meghalaya, Assam, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim, as well as heavy to very heavy rain in Nagaland and Tripura.

3. Waterlogging in major parts of Assam's main city, Guwahati, has seriously disrupted normal life for the third consecutive day, with neighbourhoods such as Anil Nagar, Nabin Nagar, Zoo Road, Six Mile, Noonmati, Bhootnath, and Maligaon among the worst-affected.

4. Officials say floods have flooded a large portion of Assam's Rangia sub-division, displacing many residents, and that two relief camps have been set up in the Rangia town area.

5. According to an Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) bulletin, the downpour caused 13 embankments to be breached and 64 roads and a bridge to be destroyed.

6. Due to excessive rain, train services in Tripura have been interrupted for the previous month. Meanwhile, the surface link between Tripura and the rest of the country was severed on Thursday as a result of large landslides on National Highway-6 caused by heavy rain, according to officials.

7. All educational establishments in Assam's Dima Hasao district have been ordered closed until June 18 by the Deputy Commissioner, who is also the head of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).
