Raj Kundra, husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, was arrested on July 19 by the Crime Branch of Mumbai. Businessman Raj Kundra earned more than Rs 1.17 crore between August and December last year from his production and online business of porn films. The Mumbai Crime Branch has found the details of revenue and payments of the Hotshot app from the mobile and chat between Kundra and his business partner Ryan Thorpe on Tuesday which was informed to the magistrate court. Kundra had planned to sell 119 adult films to a person for USD 1.2 million, the polices claimed during the hearing.
“Interrogation of Ryan Thorpe, another accused in the case, revealed that revenue from Hotshots was Rs 1,17,64,886 (USD 1,58,057) between August and December 2020," the remand plea of the police said.
During the search operation of Kundra’s office by the investigators on July 24, documents were recovered from nine files. Many statements have already been placed by women who alleged that they were tricked into acting in a porn film. Police say many more victims are likely to come forward to open up about the same. Kundra’s both bank accounts have already been frozen by the police.
Lawyers of Raj Kundra have filed a bail application, contending that he should be released as the investigation done by the police was over. Kundra has been sent to Judicial custody by the court, his bail application will be heard in due course of time says the court.
