Rajasthan Exit Poll 2023: 'Revolving Door' trend likely to continue as BJP has the edge

Digital Desk: Rajasthan is expected to continue its ' revolving door' pattern and witness a BJP comeback to power, according to ABP-CVoter exit poll. The BJP, which relied on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popularity and refrained from projecting a chief ministerial face, is expected to secure 94–114 seats, according to the ABP-CVoter exit poll. The Congress is expected to win between 71 and 91 seats, however, its vote share increased to 41.1% from 39.3% in the polls conducted in 2018.

On November 25, votes were cast for 199 of Rajasthan's 200 assembly seats. On December 3, the ballots will be counted. The death of the Congress candidate forced a postponement of the Karanpur assembly constituency election.

Earlier in the day, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot declared that BJP would lose in all five of the states that held hustings and that the Congress would form the government regardless of the results of the exit polls. 

"People will repeat our government in Rajasthan and there are 3 reasons for this. The first reason is that there is no anti-incumbency wave against the government, even experts are saying so. The second one is CM. BJP voters will also say that the CM left no stone unturned in carrying out development work. Third is the language spoken by the Prime Minister, Home Minister, BJP Chief Ministers and Union Ministers during the campaign. Nobody liked that language," ANI quoted Gehlot as saying.

With the backing of a few Independents, the Congress party formed the government after winning 99 seats in the 2018 Rajasthan Assembly election. The BJP, led by Vasundhara Raje, only managed to win 73 seats.
