Digital Desk: The Tai Ahom Development Council extended a special financial assistance to the family of the late renowned artist Rajib Sadiya in Nazira, Sivasagar.


A sum of Rs 5 lakh was handed over to Rajib Sadiya's family, with the cheque being received by his wife.


The grant was officially presented by Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika during a public meeting in Nazira, held to commemorate Assam Day, also known as Siukapha Divas.


The event was organised by the Cultural Department of the Assam Government and the Tai Ahom Development Council, in collaboration with the Sivasagar District Administration and the Nazira ATASU Sub-Division Committee.


As part of the celebrations, Minister Pijush Hazarika also unveiled a 20-foot-tall statue of Swargadeo Chaolung Siukapha during the ceremony.
