Digital Desk: The Mumbai Police have summoned actor Ranveer Singh for questioning in relation to the complaint made against him for a nude photo shoot. According to rumours, Ranveer has been requested to show up at the relevant station on August 22.

Following a recent cover shot in which Ranveer posed naked, several lawsuits were brought against him in Mumbai on the grounds that the shoot had offended the feelings of women.

Ranveer photographed naked for Paper Magazine in July. The images were first posted on social media by the magazine, then a day later, Ranveer did the same on his personal accounts. After that, an NGO and another person filed FIRs against the actor, alleging that he published "obscene" content on social media and that the images damaged women's feelings and violated their modesty.

According to PTI, the actor would be asked to "join the probe" at the police station on August 22. Police officers from Mumbai's Chembur police station went to the actor's home on Friday to issue him with a summons to participate in the investigation, but they were told that he was not in the city, the official said. Later, Ranveer informed police that he intended to return on August 16. On that day, he will receive the notification, and on August 22, he will be asked to give a statement.

Ranveer posed in a variety of ways on a Turkish rug for the much-discussed photos, wearing nothing most of the time. A few people who found the images offensive condemned him, but many of his fans and his Bollywood coworkers stood behind him as well. They included Vidya Balan, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and many others.

The next movie starring Ranveer will be Rohit Shetty's Cirkus, starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde. Around Christmas 2022, a movie based on William Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors will be released. Additionally, Ranveer has the Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan-starring Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The movie is scheduled to premiere on February 11, 2023.
