Ratan Tata Goes for a Joy Ride In a Customized Electric Nano Digital Desk: Industrialist Ratan Tata, took a spin in the custom-built 72V Nano EV. In a LinkedIn post, the Pune-based Electra EV shared a post. The company terming it a “moment of truth” said they hoped for Ratan Tata’s remarks after his car ride. “It is a moment of truth for Team Electra EV when our founder takes a ride in the custom-built 72V Nano EV, powered by the engineering might consist of Electra EV’s powertrain. We are super proud to deliver Mr Tata’s Nano EV and gain insights from his invaluable feedback,” Electra EV wrote on its LinkedIn page. In a photo shared by Electra EV, the industrialist can be seen ready for a joy ride with his executive assistant, Shantanu Naidu. The Tata Nano EV is a four-seater with an anticipated range of up to 160 kilometres and a 0-60 kmph acceleration time of less than 10 seconds. The Tata Motors EV has four seats powered by super polymer lithium-ion batteries. “The Tata Nano EV offers the practicality of a real automobile, sacrificing nothing in the aim of providing environmentally responsible personal mobility for the modern consumer.” according to Tata Motors. Meanwhile, Electra EV, the Ratan Tata-founded company that provides electric vehicle powertrain solutions to Tata Motors and other automakers, expects to double its revenue every financial year due to robust order books. Notably, the company made 115 crores in the fiscal year that ended in March 2020. The company had experienced a tenfold increase in demand. Electra was producing 100-150 electric vehicle kits per month until August. This needed to be increased to 1,000 units.
