Digital Desk: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) was notified on Tuesday that 11 bombs had been installed at 11 separate sites across Mumbai, according to a bomb threat letter they received. The email claimed that RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman were involved in the "biggest scam of India" and demanded their resignations.
According to the letter, there were eleven bombs hidden in Mumbai, including at the RBI buildings, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank. It further stated that the explosion was scheduled to occur at 1:30 pm.
“We have planted 11 different bombs in different locations of Mumbai. the RBI along with private sector banks have executed the biggest scam in India. The scam involves RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, some of the top finance officials, and some renowned ministers of India. We have sufficient proof for the same, ” the mail read, as seen by CNN-News18.
The mail further mentioned three locations where the bomb was planted –
- RBI New Central Office building fort
- HDFC house Churchgate
- ICICI Bank towers BKC
We demand that the Finance Minister and the RBI Governor immediately resign from their positions and issue a press release revealing the details of the scam. We further urge that the government impose appropriate punishments on all those involved in the scam. The email added, "All 11 of the bombs will explode one by one if our demands are not granted by 1:30 pm.
The Mumbai police took immediate action and conducted a thorough search of every location. Nothing suspicious was found in the search. A formal complaint has been lodged at the MRA Marg police station in compliance with IPC sections 505 (1) (b), 505 (2), and 506 (2).
