Digital Desk: On 25th May, around 1:30 AM, a serious accident occurred in Guwahati when a dumper truck driver recklessly crashed into the entrance gate of the Assam State Zoo on Zoo Road. The vehicle bearing the registration number AS01EC5574, was working in the zoo on a construction site managed by a private company. Eyewitnesses claimed that the driver sped out of the zoo and crashed into the historic entrance, severely damaging it.
Because of the driver’s carelessness, the accident has led many to worry about increasingly risky dumper truck operations in Assam. These heavy vehicles, often driven carelessly, have become a rising threat on the roads.
The driver of the dumper left the scene after the crash. The police arrived soon after the event and have launched an investigation .Meanwhile, Mehbub Ali, the owner of the truck, has taken responsibility and assured the reconstruction of the damaged heritage structure.
