Swift intervention is crucial to curtail further damage and ensure the safety of all residents and students at the institute...

Digital Desk: Relentless rainfall has unleashed severe flooding in Arunachal Pradesh, exacting a heavy toll on ITI Balinong in Changlang District. Situated along the Burhi Dehing River, the institute grapples annually with soil erosion and rising water levels, exacerbated by recent downpours.

The situation is dire, with one Type 3 residential quarter already washed away and two Type 2 quarters on the brink of collapse. The boys' hostel and three bachelor's barracks near the riverbank are also perilously threatened, heightening concerns among trainees and staff.

The entire ITI compound faces imminent submersion and erosion unless immediate preventive measures are implemented by authorities. Swift intervention is crucial to curtail further damage and ensure the safety of all residents and students at the institute.
