On Monday at approximately 2 in the morning, Mahanta passed away, leaving a void in the fields of politics and journalism.
His mortal remains will be transported to his Geetanagar home from Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
It is to be noted that the final rites of Mahanta will be conducted at Navagraha.
