Vidisha: Workers of the right-wing organization vandalized a missionary school in Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha district due to alleged religious conversion.

The right-wing organization claimed that Saint Joseph School in Ganjbasoda has conducted religious conversion of eight students to Christianity. However, the missionary school refuted the charge.

The workers pelted stones at the school building and damaged the school property, as per the eyewitness.

A case has been registered against the identified accused and action will be taken under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), said Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Bharat Bhushan Sharma.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Office-bearer Nilesh Agrawal, denying all the allegations, asserted that they had only organized a peaceful protest outside the school and later submitted a memorandum to the local administration.

Reportedly, in the letter, the VHP, along with Bajrang Dal, the Hindi Jagran Manch, accused the school management of converting eight students to Christianity.

In the letter, the outfits accused that the school management forced the students not to apply ‘tilak’ (a coloured mark) on the forehead and wear ‘kalawa’ (a sacred thread worn by Hindus)on the wrist.

Moreover, they also alleged that students are forced to say Christian prayers.

Meanwhile, the church called for an investigation to find out the truth. It accuses some YouTube channels of spreading false news of religious conversion, thereby creating communal tension.

The Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Roshan Rai said, action would be taken against those responsible for the vandalism. Already, a probe has begun into the alleged conversion and the school management will be interrogated.
