Digital Desk: A road accident occurred around 2 AM last night at Mirza Chowk in South Kamrup. The incident involved a head-on collision between a four-wheeler (registration number AS01 AL2398) and a truck (AS01 TC 9882).
As a result of the crash, Lob Das, a 40-year-old resident of Kochpara, died on the spot who was in the four-wheeler. Another person from Kochpara resident, who is identified as Nitul Thakuria, was severely hurt.
Both of them were first taken to Mirza Government Hospital. Later, the body of Lob Das was transferred to the morgue in Palashbari Police Station, and it has now been shifted to Guwahati, where it will be subjected to a post-mortem. Nitul Thakuria was shifted to a private hospital for advanced medical treatment.
The horrifying incident was captured on CCTV, and the visuals are being viewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
This tragic incident has raised serious concerns about road safety and late-night vehicular movement in the region.
