Bishnu Das of Rupahihat Police Station faces serious allegations
Digital Desk: A police officer in Rupahihat has once again tarnished the reputation of the khaki uniform. Rupahihat Police Station Sub-inspector Bishnu Das has been accused of taking a 28,000-rupee bribe for granting anticipatory bail.
The case is linked to a physical altercation between Ziarul Islam and Saidul Islam, both residents of Batmari village. After the event, Das had reportedly demanded the bribe from the Saidul family for the release of minors of the family.
A case has been registered at Rupahihat Police Station under case number 260/2025. While one individual was arrested, the officer is accused of soliciting money for the release of the remaining two.
The incident has sparked concern over corruption within the police force. An investigation is currently underway to determine the full extent of the wrongdoing and hold those involved accountable.
