Digital Desk: Sachin Tendulkar recently said that he requested the BCCI before his farewell series and pushed them to comply with his 'single request.' Tendulkar wants to play his farewell game in Mumbai so that his mother can witness him playing on the home ground for the first time. Sachin Tendulkar's farewell match for India took place more than eight years ago, but his parting pictures still make his fans emotional. Tendulkar retired in November 2013 after a 24-year brilliant career in which he played 200 Test matches for India and amassed over 33,000 runs and 100 hundred in the international circuit. In a recent conversation with Graham Bensinger, Sachin confessed that he appeals to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ahead of his final Test match against the West Indies in his birthplace, Mumbai, where he hit 74 in his final innings. "When I was about to play the final match of my career, I told the board... the BCCI, that these two games would be my last, but my only request and wish was that I play my final game in Mumbai so that my mother could watch. So they happily agreed to host the final game in Mumbai, and she saw me play live for the first time in 24 years." Tendulkar told Bensinger. "It was incredible. I was batting. They showed her on that massive screen, but she had no idea about it. The entire stadium is watching her reaction. I was already emotional, and it's difficult to keep focused when you're feeling that way. The last six balls were crucial in that over, but what I saw on the mega-screen was equally essential." Tendulkar also said that no one in his family had ever seen him play live during his whole career, his brother Ajit Tendulkar. "It began while I was in elementary school. I hated anyone who happened to watch me live. So my brother would lurk behind a tree and keep an eye on me all day. As a result, my brother has seen every match I've ever played in. So he'd keep an eye on me and take notes, and we'd talk about it. My brother also informed the rest of the family that no one would be watching him. He needs to perform... he needs to score runs, and if he's distracted by family members, it won't work." Sachin said. Also Read: Babar Azam is like Sachin Tendulkar not Virat Kohli: Mohammad Asif
