Owing to a potential threat to his life, Salman Khan has already been outfitted with Y+ category...

Digital Desk: The Mumbai police control room received a phone on Monday night from a man who threatened to assassinate actor Salman Khan on April 30. The caller introduced himself as "Goushala Rakshak Rocky Bhai" from Rajasthan's Jodhpur. He also demanded that the police inform the actor about the call.

The caller is being traced by Mumbai police and the Crime Branch.

Security has been beefed up around the actor's house. Owing to a potential threat to his life, the actor has already been outfitted with Y+ category security and a bulletproof vehicle.

Last month, Mumbai police charged gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, and Mohit Garg of sending a threatening email to Salman Khan. But, police officers investigating the case believe it is a fraud.

The email was sent by a 25-year-old man from Delhi who is presently studying in the United Kingdom. According to officials, he does not appear to be connected with the criminals Bishnoi and Brar or any other group.

It wasn't the first time the actor has received a threat from the Bishnoi gang.

A letter was left in June of last year at a place on Bandra Bandstand where the actor's father Salim Khan goes for a walk. The letter threatened that the actor will face a similar fate as singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was slain last year. In that case, an FIR was also lodged, and the Bombay Crime Branch was given charge of the case.
