Guwahati: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal tendered his resignation from the Assembly seat of Majuli 99 LAC, with effect from September 28, 2021.
In a letter addressed to the Assam Legislative Assembly speaker, Sonowal said, "I hereby tender my resignation of my seat in the Assembly with effect from today, 28th September, 2021."

Sarbananda Sonowal was the legislator of Majuli LAC before being inducted in PM Modi's cabinet as the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and AYUSH. He was also elected to Rajya Sabha unopposed yesterday.
