Digital Desk: In the World Tennis Tour (WTT) Championship in Zagreb, Croatia, Indian paddler Sathiyan Gnanasekaran ousted world No. 6 and became the incumbent European champion Jorgic Darko by 3-1 to advance to the round of 16 in the men's singles.

On his way to a 6-11 12-10 11-9 12-10 win over the second-seeded Slovenian player in their round of 32 matches on Thursday, Sathiyan displayed courage and executed his ideas flawlessly.

Sathiyan felt as if he was standing at the top of the sky; as he shared his happiness through a tweet, it read - "Went all guns blazing as I secured a MASSIVE WIN tonight taking down the World Rank 6 & current European cup champion Jorgic Darko (SLO) 3-1 in the Men Singles Round of 32 here in WTT Contender Zagreb 2022."

During the 2019 Asian Championships, Sathiyan defeated Japan's former World No. 5 Tomakazu Harimoto.
