Washington: The smash-hit Korean thriller series ‘Squid Game’ director Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed the plan of season-2 of the Netflix original series.
On Monday, Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed the news during the special screening at the Neuenhouse Hollywood red carpet rolled out by Netflix.
Hwang Dong-hyuk said, “I do have a basic storyline for season two. It’s all in my head, and I am currently in the brainstorming stage. It will happen someday, but as for when I cannot tell you the details.”

“I felt the pressure for another season-long before I arrived in Los Angeles. We get on YouTube and see people that have already written season two and season three for us. Coming here and seeing how well-received the show and how much the fans want it, I have been getting the same question by the press as well.” added Hwang.
Netflix spokesperson said to Hollywood Reporter that a second season is in discussion but not confirmed yet.
As per Netflix, it took only 17 days after its release to grab 111 million global fans for the nine-episode series Squid Game to become the streamer’s biggest ever and the first to surpass 100 million views.
However, until now, the creator didn’t disclose the details but hints that Gi-hun will be back and will do something for the world.
Commenting for season2, Lee, who plays the lead character Seong Gi-Hun asserted, “There is no secret to not spoiling what’s to come because I don’t even know what’s going to happen.”
The Korean series ‘Squid Game’ is about 456 people lured into playing deadly versions of children’s games to win a tempting prize. However, the contestant further came to know that their lives are at stake as the competition has deadly consequences.
Currently, the first season is streaming on Netflix.
