Digital Desk: Unidentified assailants attacked a senior lawyer with acid in Assam's Kokrajhar district on Saturday, stated the Police Officials.
The incident occurred on Friday in the Gossaigaon neighbourhood. The victim was identified as Abdus Samad Ahmed, a native of Padmabil village and senior lawyer for the Gossaigaon Lawyer's Association.
According to officials, the attackers broke into Ahmed's house and splashed acid in his face. He was taken to RNB Civil Hospital but then transferred to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
A case has been filed, and an inquiry is currently being undertaken. In the meantime, the Gossaigaon law society has demanded harsh punishment for those responsible for this crime.
