Guwahati: To beat the traffic load along the east-west corridor of Pathsala-Nagaon stretch, the Assam government decided to construct seven flyovers and one ‘road over bridge’ in the state.

Reportedly, the project will be undertaken by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The seven flyovers will be constructed in Pathsala, Baihata Chariali on the Guwahati and Rangiya sides, Kathiatali, Borghat, Raha and Dimow Chariali. Moreover, the road over bridge will be constructed at Jagiroad in the Morigaon district.

As per the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) official, the tendering process for these projects will be completed by the end of the fiscal year.

Moreover, the government plans to construct four more flyovers at Boragaon, Garchuk, lokhra and Basistha Chariali and an underpass at Beharbari point with an estimated amount cost of Rs. 356.02 crores.
