The Bollywood star had flown in on a private jet to Mumbai International Airport's Terminal 3 after attending an event in Sharjah.

Digital Desk: Actor Shah Rukh Khan and those travelling with him were stopped by the Customs Department at Mumbai Airport for several hours last night due to several pricey watches they had in their luggage. According to sources, he had to pay a customs duty of 6.83 lakh before being allowed to depart the airport.

The Bollywood star had flown in on a private jet to Mumbai International Airport's Terminal 3 after attending an event in Sharjah.

When Mr. Khan and those with him were exiting the terminal, the pricey watches were found in the luggage.

According to accounts, some of Mr. Khan's crew, including his bodyguard, were held all night for questioning before being allowed to leave before dawn, although Mr. Khan and his manager were let to leave the airport once Customs formalities were completed.

According to reports, the actor's luggage and the luggage of those travelling with him also contained packing for six expensive watches worth about 18 lakh rupees.

Mr. Khan was honoured with the Global Icon of Cinema and Cultural Narrative Award for his achievements to international cinema and culture yesterday at the Sharjah International Book Fair 2022.
