A newborn baby was saved by some local residents, found the baby drowning in a pan on the Yamuna River in Mathura.

The police were informed about the baby, who is now on the lookout for the person who abandoned the baby in the river. The newborn baby was found at the Chamunda Ghat of Vrindavan.

The police officials told that the baby has been admitted o the child department of the district hospital where it is undergoing treatment for possible harmful elements.

Sub Inspector Manoj Sharma fished the iron pan out of the river and took the newborn to the hospital. The baby was wrapped in a white cloth and was crying. He said an inquiry is underway to find out those responsible for the heinous act. The baby will be given for adoption if the person is not found.

Hindustani Biradari Vice-Chairman Vishal Sharma said that if nobody is willing to adopt the baby, the outfit would be willing to take care of it with permission.
