Digital Desk: In a shocking incident, a pregnant woman was reportedly subjected to a brutal attack by a doctor at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH).
Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the Obstetrics and Gynecology (O&G) department, has been the target of serious allegations.
Images of the alleged victim have now surfaced, revealing evident assault marks on her face as well as bruises.
GMCH Superintendent Abhijit Sarma confirmed the formation of an inquiry committee in a notification that was released after the incident came to light.
This committee has been tasked with investigating allegations made against Dr. Abhishek Mahajan. It is chaired by Dr. B P Das and consists of Drs. Kanakeswar Bhuyan, Pankaj Adhicari, and Pradip Kr Das.
Moreover, the committee has been requested to submit its report within 24 hours. The doctor will be suspended for a year if found guilty at the end of the investigation.
