The Hindi-speaking woman's arrival in the village triggered widespread panic, leading a group of local youths to mercilessly attack her as a crowd gathered.
The victim was eventually rescued by concerned individuals who alerted the Fakirganj Police.
Officers arrived promptly at the scene and took the woman into custody.
While the police have secured her safety, her identity is yet to be established.
An investigation into the assault is currently underway.
