Digital Desk: A violent assault occurred in broad daylight in Katigorah, Cachar, as a group of miscreants armed with sharp weapons launched a deadly attack on a youth.
The chilling scene of the attackers approaching their target on the main road was captured on a mobile camera.
The incident reportedly stemmed from a minor quarrel among teenagers during a cricket match.
Following the dispute, a youth identified as Kalim Uddin allegedly left the scene and returned with several associates on a motorcycle, brandishing sharp weapons to carry out the assault.
Two individuals sustained serious injuries in the attack. Among them, the condition of Khairul Ahmed Laskar is reported to be critical.
He was initially rushed to Katigorah Model Hospital by locals before being shifted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment.
Police have launched a formal investigation into the incident to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
