Digital Desk:Digital Desk: A 34-year-old lady allegedly got into a fight with her husband over her extramarital affair, which led her to attempt suicide by climbing an electric pole and gripping the high-tension wire.

However, those who were present informed the police, who then got in touch with the nearby energy provider to turn off the power in order to save the woman's life.

The incident occurred on Wednesday in the Gorakhpur neighborhood of Pipraich.

Social media users shared a video of the incident, in which the woman was seen atop an electric pole and the residents were calling for her to step down.

The woman, Suman Devi (34), a mother of three, was allegedly involved in an affair with a man, according to the police. When her husband, Ram Govind (35) found out about her extramarital affair, she demanded that her lover should live in the same house as her husband.

The woman tried to commit suicide by climbing up an electric pole and gripping a high-tension wire when Govind rejected her proposal and left the house.

The Pipraich Police Station Station House Officer (SHO) explained the incident by saying, "A police squad arrived at the scene following reports of a woman who had climbed up an electric pole.
