Mumbai: Sensation prevailed in Zakir Hussain Mankhurd, Mumbai after a woman’s body was found with legs and hands tied with rope inside a plastic bag in a drain.

Some people who were passing by the Zakir Hussain Mankhurd spotted the bag lying in the ‘nullah’ (drain) and they immediately informed the police in the early hours of Sunday.

When the bag was opened by the police, they found the body of a woman, aged around 25 to 30 years, with hands and legs tied with ropes along with a ''mangalsutra'' , bangles, and some other items on the body.

CCTV footages of the area were scanned by the police to find out if there’s any missing complaint reported in the police stations nearby, an official said.

An FIR was registered under 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence), Indian Penal Code Sections 302 (murder) against unidentified persons, and search is on by the police, he added.
