The FMM also demanded that the media stop communalising the murder of Shraddha Walkar.

Digital Desk: The Federation of Maharashtra Muslims (FMM), a group of Muslim organisations, united on Sunday in Jalna and condemn the murder of Shraddha Walkar (27), who was allegedly killed by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawala. On May 18, Aaftab is accused of killing Walkar in Delhi's Mehrauli neighbourhood and disposing of her body parts over weeks.

The FMM also demanded that the media stop communalising the murder of Shraddha Walkar.

According to another official, certain media accounts of the crime were "obviously polarising and communal." According to Shaikh Mujeeb from the FMM, Poonawala should receive a severe punishment in addition to the victim of the heinous crime receiving justice. Domestic abuse research and contemplation are also necessary because laws have not served as effective deterrents, he added.
