Digital Desk: Today, Anita Deka Mahanta, wife of Shyamkanu Mahanta, appeared before the Fast Track Court this morning with the necessary documents in connection with her husband’s bail plea. The hearing, which had remained incomplete on Wednesday, resumed today and has now been concluded. The court’s verdict is expected to be delivered later in the afternoon.

There is a strong possibility that Siddhartha’s counsel may refile the bail application, as an affidavit submitted earlier was reportedly filed incorrectly in court.

Following the hearing, Anita Deka Mahanta made an appeal to the people of Assam, urging them to set aside anger and hostility and allow her family to regain their lost dignity and live peacefully in society.

She also stated that Mahanta has been deeply distressed following the absence of Zubeen Garg.

Addressing the allegations, she claimed that there is no evidence to prove that Shyamkanu Mahanta supplied alcohol, nor any proof that Zubeen Garg was forcibly taken to Singapore. She further emphasised that the case will ultimately be decided based on the evidence presented before the court.
