This decision aims to ensure community participation in achieving environmental sustainability...

Digital desk: All tourist vehicles entering Sikkim must now carry a large garbage bag, according to an official order from the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department. This decision aims to ensure community participation in achieving environmental sustainability.

Tour operators, travel agencies, and vehicle drivers are responsible for informing travelers about using garbage bags for waste disposal. Random checks of tourist vehicles will be conducted to ensure compliance, with penalties for violations.

Awareness campaigns are being carried out to educate tourists on waste management and environmental sustainability.

Sikkim, India's least populated state with over 6 lakh residents, attracts more than 20 lakh visitors annually for its picturesque Himalayan destinations.
