Digital Desk: With the aim of providing affordable and accessible healthcare, Naga entrepreneur Kenei Kuotsu launched a healthcare policy mobile application called "MonAram" on Saturday at De Oriental Grand in Kohima.

Last year, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Kuotsu, who is also the founder of SpeakGuru Foundation, revealed the mobile application was brainstormed during the inaugural Hackathon organised by the Department of Industries & Commerce and Educentre.

The Naga entrepreneur, who lives in Singapore with his family, said that after his father died in a car accident in 2019, the necessity for rapid medical attention was realized.

He stated that the mobile app is available on the Google Play Store and will be accessible on iOS soon. He also mentioned that the mobile app will be available in neighbouring states in the coming days.

Moreover, a video explaining the usage of the app was uploaded on YouTube by a popular production house from Nagaland, Dreamz Unlimited, and was also streamed at the event.

Thejakielie Zuyie, the app's brand ambassador and a motorcyclist who recently travelled the state to promote the app, as well as other motorcyclists, attended the launch ceremony.

Following the tour, MonAram has empanelled healthcare facilities in Kohima, Dimapur, Tuensang, Mokokchung, Wokha, and Zunheboto.

Loliro Kuotsu and Neikhrienyü, senior pastors of Baptist Mission Church, presided over the event. On the occasion, former SBC students headed by Vimezo Iralu presented a musical piece.

With a registration fee of Rs 500, quick relief from empanelled healthcare facilities worth Rs 5,000 during vehicle or other domestic-accident cases and an amount of Rs 2,000 for dental accidents not covered by any other insurance company can be obtained.

Notably, in the unfortunate event of a fatal accident, a nominee of the registered member would be eligible to receive a sum of Rs 50,000 as ex-gratia.
