Digital Desk: The menace of snatch thieves continues in Guwahati city. A snatch thief snatched a mobile phone from a man while he was shopping in the busy Narengi Kalangpar market. 


Partha Sarathi, a resident of Vishnunagar in Patharkuwari, was shopping at Narengi Kalangpar market when his phone was snatched.


Taking advantage of the public gathering at the market, the snatch thief snatched the mobile phone from the man's pocket and fled. The victim lodged an FIR at Noonmati police station in connection with the incident. 


Based on the FIR, the police have registered a case at the police station and are investigating but have not been able to find the clue of the snatch thief.


It is to be noted that in the Narengi Kalangpar market, frequent snatch thieves have been creating terror by snatching women's chains, bags, mobiles, etc.


A series of criminal incidents in Guwahati highlights the persistent threat of theft and robbery in the city. Previous incidents include a chain-snatching incident in Rajgarh, a daring theft at Beekay Tower in Ganeshguri, and a case where bikers snatched a bag full of cash in Beltola.
