Digital Desk: In the Gumla area of Jharkhand, a drunken son beat to death his mother, who was 60 years old. The incident took place in Saredh village, which is a rural and naxal-affected area within the boundaries of the Ghaghra police station. Manoj Cheek Badaik, the 28-year-old son, killed his own mother, Manmait Devi, after getting intoxicated.

After getting drunk, Saridih resident Manoj Cheek Badaik arrived at his home and began assaulting his elderly mother, who was cleaning dishes. She passed away instantly.

The police were notified of the occurrence by the villagers the following morning, at which point they seized control of the body and sent it for postmortem procedures.
