Gandhi, the party's interim president, will make the decision on Rajasthan's
chief minister in a day or two, according to Congress leader KC Venugopal. In
the national capital, Venugopal met with Sonia Gandhi.
On Monday, he met with
Gandhi to discuss the political unrest in Rajasthan. Venugopal's meeting with
Gandhi came after Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced that he will
not run for Congress President after meeting with Sonia Gandhi.
The remarks follow the uncertainty in Rajasthan and the national capital caused by the political drama that has been unfolding since Gehlot declared his candidacy for the Congress presidential election on October 17.
Sachin Pilot, the former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan, will also meet with Sonia Gandhi later on Thursday.
