Goswami questioned whether the accused might walk free under the current circumstances, pointing out that the prevailing situation outside is well known to all
Digital Desk: The hearing in the mysterious death case of Zubeen Garg is set to begin today in a fast-track court, with proceedings scheduled to be held on a daily basis to ensure a swift trial.
The case will be heard in Court No. 3 of the Kamrup Sessions Judge’s Court, with Sharmila Bhuyan presiding over the proceedings and expected to deliver the final judgment.
Meanwhile, family members have expressed cautious optimism as the trial begins. Partha Goswami stated that the commencement of the fast-track trial has brought a renewed sense of hope and some clarity. However, he also raised serious concerns regarding the possibility of the accused being granted bail.
Goswami questioned whether the accused might walk free under the current circumstances, pointing out that the prevailing situation outside is well known to all. He further revealed that the family has already faced setbacks in two related cases, which has intensified their concerns.
He also alleged irregularities, claiming that one of the accused was allowed to open a bank account and that a company was set up using funds linked to Zubeen Garg, reportedly under the name of Siddhartha Sharma. Describing the chargesheet as “weak and ineffective,”
Goswami expressed apprehension over the direction in which the case is progressing.
Concluding his remarks, he said the family has now placed its faith entirely in God as the legal battle unfolds.
