"It was utterly pointless. The suspect entered the restaurant to place an order for a sandwich, but there was a problem with it that angered him so much that he decided to attack two of the staff members there," Charles Hampton Jr., Deputy Chief of Atlanta Police, stated.

Digital Desk: After arguing with a customer about the customer's sandwich having "too much mayonnaise on it," a subway worker in the United States was recently shot and killed in front of her kid on Sunday.

Police told Fox News that the incident happened at a gas station in downtown Atlanta. Following the event, a second worker was hospitalised with injuries. The proprietor of the Subway said that a customer's ire over mayo was the only real cause of the shooting.

As the owner, Willie Glenn, explained, "Believe it or not, it was about too much mayonnaise on his sandwich. He tried to escalate the situation, and from there, that's when all hell broke out. "

According to the police, a client shot two staff members, killing one of them, a 26-year-old woman, and critically injuring another, a 24-year-old woman, who was sent to surgery. According to the source, police have detained a 36-year-old man.

"It was utterly pointless. The suspect entered the restaurant to place an order for a sandwich, but there was a problem with it that angered him so much that he decided to attack two of the staff members there," Charles Hampton Jr., Deputy Chief of Atlanta Police, stated.

Separately, Mr. Glenn said that the deceased employee's five-year-old son was present in the store at the time of the incident. He continued by saying that a manager who was on duty fired back at the suspect but missed. The restaurant's owner noted that the two employees who were shot had been employed there for three to four weeks.

"It is incredibly awful because there is simply so much killing and shooting going on, and this is absurd. My heart is only with my staff right now, "Glenn stated."

The man who was detained and the name of the woman who was killed have not been disclosed by the authorities.
