Digital Desk: West Indies cricketer Sunil Narine lit up the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) with a stunning 13-ball fifty for Comilla Victorians on Wednesday. Narine now ranks as the second-fastest half-centurion in the T20 format. The southpaw set the new record in the second qualifier of the ongoing BPL between Comilla Victorians and Chattogram Challengers. Sunil Narine, who opened the batting for his team, hit the ground running right away, scoring 50 runs in no time. He hit five fours and six sixes in just 12.5 overs to help the Victorians meet their goal of 149 runs. Narine only played two dot balls in his entire inning. Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh of India recorded the fastest half-century in T20 cricket when he hit a 12-ball fifty against England in 2007. Later in the innings, Chris Gayle and Hazratullah Zazai each hit 50 runs in just 12 balls. Meanwhile, Sunil Narine was dismissed for 57 runs in the game, but he had already placed his team on the right track to victory. Imrul Kayes (22), Faf du Plessis (30 not out), and Moeen Ali all contributed to the team's impressive achievement of the aim. Narine responded to the innings by saying that the wicket was good to bat on and that the ball was coming on beautifully. "No, I was ecstatic when I was told I had to open, especially with only two fielders outside the ring. It was a wonderful pitch to bat on since there was not much spin, and the new ball came on nicely." Narine stated.
