With only less than a week until the release of the Sunny Deol-starring film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), excitement for the sequel is high on sky...


Digital Desk: Gadar 2 by director Anil Sharma is one of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year. With only one week until the premiere of the Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma-starring sequel to the 2001 historical hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, excitement is high on sky. This is also evident from the fact that the historical drama's robust advance ticket sales.


The most recent sources indicate that PVR has sold 12,100 seats for Gadar 2 while Inox and Cinepolis have only managed to sell 8,600 and 9,350, respectively. Thus, 30,050 tickets have been sold as of now.


It should be noted that these are the only tickets sold on the opening day at the three multiplex chains mentioned above. The remaining theatres, particularly single screens, are not included in this figure.

At the box office, Gadar 2 will compete with OMG 2, starring Akshay Kumar. Both films are anticipated to screen alongside Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which has been playing to positive reviews in theatres since it opened on 28 July.
