“See how the villagers are supporting us… 10,000 people have come out to see me… People are with  us."

Digital Desk: Suvendhu Adhikari’s big announcement says the Bhartiya Janata Party will hold a public meeting in Sandeshkhali on March 10th, News 18 reports. After the arrest of Sheikh Shahjahan on Thursday, Suvendhu Adhikari reached Sandeshkhali. He reiterated the BJP’s stance and said that Mamta Banerjee had been providing safety to Sheikh Shahjahan.

Trinamool Congress leader Sheikh Shahjahan was arrested on Thursday morning for allegedly troubling villagers in the Sandeshkhali area in West Bengal. He has been sent to police custody for 10 days by a local court. Sheikh is accused of alleged sexual atrocities against women and land grabbing in Sandeshkhali.

Showing at the public in Sandeshkhali, Adhikari says, “See how the villagers are supporting us… 10,000 people have come out to see me… People are with  us." He also informed that on March 10, the BJP will hold a rally in Sandeshkhali.

Suvendhu said on Wednesday that Sheikh Shahjahan “is in the safe custody of Mamata Police." He added on ‘X’ that “he (Sheikh Shahjahan) will be extended 5-star facilities during his time behind the bars and will have access to a mobile phone, through which he will be able to lead the Tolamool Party virtually.”

Since an ED team attempted to raid Sheikh Shahjahan's home in relation to the suspected ration scam and was ambushed by a crowd of about a thousand people on January 5, Sheikh Shahjahan had been hiding.
