Reactions at the national and international levels have been prompted by the Taliban's imposition of restrictions on Afghan girls and women.

Digital Desk: According to Mohammad Akif Mahajar, a spokesman for the Taliban Ministry of Vice and Virtue, the Taliban have recently issued a verbal order banning women's beauty salons in Kabul and other provinces across the nation. This was informed by TOLO News which is an Afghan news channel broadcasting from Kabul.

The Kabul municipality was also given the order by the Taliban Ministry of Vice and Virtue to implement the new Taliban leader's edict and cancel the licenses of women's beauty parlours. "The men are unemployed. Women are compelled to work in beauty salons to get a loaf of bread while males are unable to care for their family. What can we do if they are forbidden there?" According to TOLO News, makeup artist Raihan Mubariz remarked.

"If the guys (in the family) have jobs, we won't leave the house. How can we help? What should we do, we should starve to death? You want us to die, the makeup artist remarked.

This occurs at a time when the Islamic Emirate has outlawed women and girls from attending or working at NGOs, as well as public places like parks, theatres, and other places of recreation.

Abdul Khabir, a native of Kabul, stated that the government create a structure for it. The framework must be constructed such that neither Islam nor the nation will suffer.
